Yesterday at King's Resort was mainly about the long marathon that awaited players in the finale of the €1,500 Mystery Million event. Out of the original 692 entries, 104 players moved on to Day 2, embarking on a long journey toward the coveted bracelet. This lengthy night marathon was ultimately conquered by Romanian player Darius Neagoe, who secured his second gold bracelet by defeating the massive field and besting René Schnitzler in the final.
It took over 9 hours for the final day lineup to narrow down to the last 9 players who made it to the final table. Leading was the lively German René Schnitzler, who entertained the room with quick decisions, big shoves, and endless chatter. While the crowd enjoyed themselves, Darius Neagoe stayed cool and focused on his goal.
As the hours passed and the supportive Romanian rail continued to cheer on Neagoe, he gained momentum. After more than 14 hours of play, the duel concluded shortly after 4:30 AM when Neagoe called Schnitzler’s shove with J c 2 s against T h 4 h, completing a flush with three hearts on the board.
“It’s obviously a great feeling, but I’m not a player chasing bracelets or money. It’s about these valuable experiences with my friends, having fun, playing poker. That’s all I care about,” the humble champion said shortly after his victory.
