When "shuffle up and deal" echoed through King's Resort yesterday, it was clear that the day would separate dreams from reality. Late registration continued for five more levels, eventually locking the field of this year's WSOPE Main Event at 659 entries. This boosted the prizepool to €6,138,585. After seven 90-minute levels, 165 hopeful champions remained with an average stack of 399,394.
Today at noon, all remaining players will return for Day 3, which aims to trim the field and push the tournament into ITM. Cash prizes start at €20,700 and go up to €1,140,000, kicking off at 99th place. This means 66 players will still have to leave this tournament empty-handed.
