WSOPE: Colossus Heads to Final, 23 Players Battle for €158,350 Today

Article cover

This year's WSOP Europe has already reached its second half, and today we will crown the winners of both the seventh and eighth spectacular bracelets. The seventh will be awarded in the final of the €550 NLH Colossus event, which during its initial flights attracted a total of 2,765 entries. This pushed the prize pool to a staggering €1,292,637, from which the most substantial portions will be handed out today.

Following the initial flights, 331 survivors returned to Day 2. The pace of eliminations was relentless, with the bubble bursting and early pay jumps dramatically thinning the field for today's compact final day. After the long and grueling Day 2, only a 23-player group remains, led into the final by German Felix Kretschmann.

Kretschmann patiently accumulated chips, eventually sealing a massive lead with 10,250,000 ahead of local player Miroslav Matula (6,310,000) and Poland's Marcin Kacprzak (5,360,000). Yet, lurking in the shadows is a fascinating mix of seasoned players: Spaniard Jose Gomez Casillas (5,150,000), Dutchman David Hu (4,915,000), WSOP champion Manig Loeser from Germany (4,305,000), and Romanian Marius Gicovanu (3,960,000).

The final day kicks off with blinds at 50k/100k/100k and an average stack of 30bb. While each finalist is guaranteed a payout of €5,500, the stakes are much higher with the championship title, precious bracelet, and €158,350 reward awaiting the best of the best. Who will it be?
