WSOP: The One and Only Martin Kabrhel Secures His Fifth WSOP Bracelet!

Article cover

The tenth bracelet event of the WSOPE 2025 was the Mystery Bounty tournament in PLO format with a €10,000 buy-in. It registered 88 entries, with 21 players advancing to the final. Late registrants joining directly into day 2 featured names like Patrik Jaroš, Shaun Deeb, Dario Alioto, and Martin Kabrhel.

It was Martin Kabrhel who created an exciting narrative in this tournament. Right in his first hand, he managed a double-up, launching a spectacular run through the event. Together with Robert Cowen, who racked up several bounties, including a top one of €75,000, these two dismantled the final table and squared off in a heads-up battle.

Heading into the duel for the title, Kabrhel had about a 10:1 lead. Although Cowen doubled up twice, extending the match, the decisive hand came on the flop A d 5 d 3 h: Kabrhel's Q h 6 s 4 c 2 c flopped a straight, while Cowen held two pairs A c T h 7 c 5 c. With a blank turn and river, the fifth bracelet stayed home at King’s Resort. Cowen added €121,000 for second place and €117,500 in bounties.

After his victory, the often controversial Kabrhel was surprisingly humble, admitting, “Today I ran incredibly well, and in Omaha, anything can happen, making this victory that much more special.” He added that even from a dominant position, Omaha is never easy, as an opponent can double up a few times and quickly get back in the game.

Second Triumph for Tobias Peters

Not far from the streaming table of the aforementioned Mystery Bounty event, the final of the ninth event, the €3,000 NLH 6-max, took place yesterday. It recorded 309 entries, culminating in one name – Tobias Peters.

The Dutchman took home €184,850 and his second career bracelet – once again in the 6-max, and once again at King’s Resort, just like his first. In the final, Peters dictated the pace, smoothly navigating through the final day to seize the victory. “I truly wanted and needed this win. It was my first year without a big victory, and breaking this streak in ‘my’ event is truly special,” the champion admitted post-victory.
