The €1,000,000 guaranteed tournament attracted players from around the globe and ultimately drew an impressive 888 entries, creating a prizepool of €1,138,860. The winner was set to receive a €200,200 check, plus a $5,000 entry to the 2025 WSOP Paradise (including a $2,700 buy-in), and of course, the coveted WSOP Circuit ring.
A Dramatic Final Table and Jenny Westerlund’s Stellar Run
At the start of the final table, Czech player Martin Surovec was leading, but Jenny Westerlund, the only woman in the final, was right on his heels. David Vinaya from Norway, who had already won a ring in Event #7: €5,000 NLH, was also aiming for a big story but exited in sixth place. Martin Surovec did slightly better, finishing fourth. His A d T c was dominating against Jenny Westerlund’s A s 9 s, but a crucial nine on the flop sealed his fate.
The winner was decided in the very next hand, avoiding the traditional heads-up. In the three-handed match, Pihela Sr made a huge 3-bet followed by a 4-bet from Westerlund. Chmielowski went all-in and, to everyone’s surprise, both Pihela Sr and Westerlund called. The players revealed their hands: Chmielowski Q s Q c, Pihela Sr A c 6 h, and Westerlund A h J d.
The flop came 2 d 9 d 3 d, giving Westerlund eight more outs. An A s on the turn brought her to the brink of victory. The river 5 h changed nothing, and Westerlund claimed the title. Thanks to PokerPro, you can watch not only the decisive moment but also the entire final table on YouTube.
