Savishchenko Leads the Main Event, Three Locals in the Top 10

The second day of the €1,500 WSOPC Main Event is over, and the tournament has officially entered its final phase. While initially it seemed the million-euro guarantee might not be reached, participation ended at 692 entries, pushing the prize pool to €1,038,000.

Day 2 kicked off with 107 players, all already secured ITM positions. Now, just 24 players remain, with Ukraine's Rostyslav Savishchenko leading the pack with 3,100,000 in chips. Close behind him are Vítězslav Čech and Georgios Vrakas, both with stacks of 2,700,000.

Among notable names is Zdeněk Žiška, chipleader of Day 1D and winner of the Mystery Bounty (event #7), currently sitting in 5th place. Home fans will also be pleased with Michal Schuh, the third Czech player in the Top 10.

Day 3 begins today at 14:00 local time, and the final table lineup will be formed. Remaining players are within reach of significant pay jumps. The winner will take home €164,000 and a prestigious ring.

Sacchi Grabs First Ring, Progner Just Misses Again

Event #11: €600 NLHE 6-Max saw a strong international field, with players from the Apennine Peninsula dominating. A total of 221 entries surpassed the guarantee, creating a prize pool of €132,600. Daniele Sacchi clinched the victory, securing his first WSOPC gold ring and €26,240.

Boris Progner was just a step away from a back-to-back title. The Slovak player, who won the Lucky7s event just three days earlier, finished in 2nd place with €17,000. Progner was the only one to withstand the Italian domination in the finale, but he'll have to wait for his second ring.
