Ian Johns Snags Fourth Bracelet, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom Still Awaits His First

Ian Johns proved once again why he’s considered one of the greats in fixed-limit formats, coming out on top in Event #41: $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship. He walked away with his fourth WSOP bracelet - his second in this particular event and his third in Limit Hold’em overall. For the victory, Johns pocketed 282,455$, defeating none other than the legendary Viktor Blom in the heads-up finale - a spotlight moment as the Swedish superstar continues his pursuit of a maiden bracelet.

The result further cements Johns’ status as a mainstay on the Limit scene. He first won the $10,000 Limit Hold’em in 2016, with his breakthrough bracelet dating all the way back to 2006. “The satisfaction of closing it out and knowing I can still compete at this level after so many years is just incredible,” Johns said after his win.

While the tournament didn’t pull a massive field - just 118 entrants and a prizepool just over one million dollars, but the level of competition was top notch. The final table boasted players with a combined 20 WSOP bracelets, including Daniel Negreanu (7 bracelets), who finished in eighth place, and Anthony Zinno (5 bracelets), who took third. Viktor “Isildur1” Blom came into the final day as the chip leader, fueling hopes for his first bracelet run, but Johns’s experience and composure in heads-up play left the Swede with no chance to mount a comeback.
