Kristopher Tong Outduels the Elite for His First WSOP Bracelet
Event #55: 10.000$ H.O.R.S.E. Championship delivered high drama from start to finish. In a 207-player field stacked with stars, Kristopher Tong emerged as champion at a final table where the combined tally of previous bracelets hit 22. Tong claimed his first career WSOP gold and a payout of 452.689$.
A runner-up at the WSOP back in 2013 and fifth in 2023, Tong would not be denied this time. In a thrilling heads-up battle, he toppled Maximilian Schindler, clinching the title with a straight in Stud Hi-Lo. Overwhelmed with emotion, Tong immediately connected with his family via video call, declaring that the win meant so much more than a trophy: “I do this for my kids and my parents. They are what drives me in life.”
This was one of the most stacked finals of the summer, with longtime names like Jason Mercier, Brad Ruben, Scott Seiver, and Alex Livingston. Through all the pressure, Tong showed not only technical prowess but also serious mental strength, coming from behind in heads-up play to close it out.

Brett Lim Outlasts Seniors Championship Field for First Bracelet
Event #48: 1.000$ Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship turned out to be one of the biggest tournaments on the 2025 WSOP schedule, drawing a staggering 7.575 entries. After a grueling five days, it was Brett Lim lifting his first WSOP gold bracelet and collecting 653.839$ for the effort.
The final day was a marathon, packed with tense standoffs and long stretches of patient play. Lim started the day second in chips, and during a heads-up battle with Elan Lepovic that stretched over two hours, he showed resilience and nerves of steel. After a tough run at the table, Lim joked to his family, “Maybe we should move to a state where gambling’s illegal.”
Swapping out his sunglasses mid-final for better lighting on the livestream, Lim quipped, “Now I’ll win.”—and he did. Soon after, he doubled up, never looked back, and closed out the victory in style.
