The Winamax Poker Open made its latest stop in Aix-les-Bains, France, hosting a week-long festival filled with various events. Leading the charge was the €500 Main Event, which saw a remarkable 2,566 entries, creating a prizepool of €1,083,878.
After two days of play, the field was narrowed down to the final 18 players, who returned yesterday for the last day of action. The spotlight shone brightly on the legendary Gus Hansen, who, as a Winamax ambassador, managed to secure a spot at the final table. He was in a strong position until he ran his A h K h into Murseli's pocket A c A s, resulting in a seventh-place finish (€16,899).

Although the early stages of the final table belonged to Swiss player Miranda Murseli, who maintained his position as chipleader and was responsible for eliminating Hansen and two others, he met his match in the heads-up play. Local player Jeremy Cauchard entered the heads-up with an 8:5 advantage and, after half an hour, he converted this lead into a title and a €135,000 reward.
For Cauchard, this marks his second major title under the Winamax banner—he triumphed at the Grand Finale Winamax Poker Tour in spring 2024 for €170,000. In Aix-les-Bains, he added another trophy to his collection and confirmed his impressive form, which he described as even better than before. “All my friends believed I’d win a double. I didn’t believe it, I kept thinking I’d get knocked out any minute, and suddenly, here I am with a trophy. I can’t believe it, it’s a wonderful feeling!”
