Article cover

In the Baltics, the Olympic brand enjoys immense popularity among poker players, offering great events across three capitals. Today, we're taking a closer look at Vilnius, where the inaugural Ace Breaker Main Event with a €1,100 buy-in took place.

The tournament featured three starting flights, and once registration closed, the final numbers settled at 183 entries, creating a prizepool of €173,850. A total of 23 players made it into the money, with the mincash set at €2,210. However, everyone knew that the real goal was at the top.

Saturday's final table was dominated by local players, with seven out of nine seats taken by Lithuanians. The final day began briskly as Audrius Stakelis was the first to depart, followed by more Lithuanians such as Kornelijus Smilingis and Jurgis Ragauskas. With six remaining, Finnish contender Jarmo Luokkala emerged as a formidable presence, maintaining a firm grip on the tournament.

He carried his momentum into the final heads-up against local Deividas Butnoras. The decisive moment came on a flop of K h 9 c Q d, where Luokkala hit the nuts with J s T h, while his opponent with K s 6 c found no relief.

The Finnish champion, as the winner of this event, took home a unique trophy and a prize of €39,260. Meanwhile, the runner-up, Deividas Butnoras, secured €25,350 for his efforts.
