Canada has lots of opportunities to watch and participate in poker events. They range from casino poker to sit and go games and tournaments. Canadian players can find games at Quebec casino sites as well as in live poker rooms. The online choice is ideal for those not prepared to travel.
If you prefer live action, Canada has several premier poker destinations that are worth visiting. They include the Playground Poker Club, River Rock Casino, Casino Niagara, and Deerfoot Inn and Casino. These iconic venues are worth visiting to play a game as well as to soak up the atmosphere.
Starting the Year As You Mean to Go On
The year of poker is already off to a good start. It kicked off with the Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza NYE in Las Vegas. That was just one of many New Year’s events happening on January 1 and beyond. As the month progressed, heads turned to Canada and the WSOP Circuit.
From January 7 to 19, fans enjoyed WSOPC Calgary. The 18 ring events brought hundreds of players to Calgary and the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. The main event was the one to watch, although the high roller prize pool also turned heads. It was an impressive performance by Senthuran Vijayaratnam, who held his position as chip leader and secured the largest win of his career.
Right now, fans are watching the WSOP International Circuit in Marrakech. That runs at the same time as the WPT Cambodia Championship, the 19th Taiwan Millions Tournament, and the Asia Series Poker Tour (ASPT) Korea 2026.
Canada’s Calendar for Poker Events 2026
That was the start of Canada’s poker events in 2026, but the calendar is just getting underway. Looking at the WSOP schedule and other major festivals, there’s plenty more to come over the next few months. For fans and players in Canada, these are the dates to pay attention to this year.
February
In February, the WSOP Circuit continues in the United States and heads to Liechtenstein. There’s still some action in Canada, though. The Winter Main Event is happening at Casino Niagara. It’s a No Limit Hold’em poker tournament with high-stakes competitions over several days. It takes place from February 17 to 19, but could run to February 20.
March
In March, the WSOP Circuit heads back to Canada. This time, the event is in the Playground, Kahnawake. It starts on March 23 and runs into April, finishing on the 7th. That’s not all that Canadians have to look forward to, as the 2026 Station Poker Classic is happening in Regina. It runs from 17 to 21 March.
April
The season continues to ramp up in April. There’s a WSOP Super Circuit event in Cyprus with prestigious Gold Ring events. In Canada, top players will be heading back to Calgary for the Deerfoot Spring Super Stack. It picks up as soon as the WSOP Circuit in Kahnawake ends, so Canadians can keep enjoying poker from 8 to 19 April.
August
The attention turns back to Calgary once more in August. Deerfoot Inn and Casino hosts the Deerfoot Summer Super Stack. It’s a No Limit Hold’em tournament running from August 5 to 16. While the schedule is still to be determined, it typically involves the main event as well as seniors. HORSE and PLO events.
Looking Further Ahead
As the year in poker progresses, the schedule for the autumn and winter months will firm up, meaning there are even more festivals to watch out for. That includes another WSOP event at Deerfoot Inn and Casino in Calgary from September to October. Plus, pay attention to major events in Asia, including the GOP and the Asian Poker Tour Championship.
