Isaac Haxton Claims First Triton Title, Dominates PLO Main Event

The biggest 'unlucky' player of the Triton series, Isaac Haxton, has finally made it. After 64 ITM finishes, 34 final tables, and approximately $19.5 million in Triton winnings, his name has been added to the champions list. In the $100K PLO Main Event, he triumphed over a record 116 entries, taking home $2,789,000 and an exclusive Jacob & Co watch awarded to the main event winners.

For Haxton, this marked the end of another long-standing curse. Just like in 2023, when he finally won his first WSOP bracelet, he closed another chapter by becoming a winner on the world's most exclusive high stakes circuit.

"I feel great, this is the outcome I was hoping for. I've won elsewhere and made numerous final tables, it had to come sooner or later," said a visibly pleased Haxton after defeating Nacho Barbero, preventing him from securing a second consecutive title.

In the decisive heads-up hand, Haxton held 6 s 7 c 8 d T d, with the flop 7 d 9 d 4 s granting him a wrap, flush draw, and pair. Barbero, holding A s Q c J h 2 c, checked on the flop, but the turn A h gave him top pair. Haxton bet, Barbero went all-in, and the river 6 h completed Haxton's straight, granting him his first desired Triton title.

Artur Martirosian Claims Third Triton Title and Edges Toward POY

Russian professional Artur Martirosian became a three-time champion of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series by winning Event #13: $25K PLO 6-Handed. In addition to the title and a $421,000 prize, this victory practically sealed his win of the prestigious Ivan Leow Player of the Year award, a title he has been contending for all season alongside Alex Foxen and Punnat Punsri.

The tournament attracted 60 entries, creating a prizepool of $1,500,000. Despite being overshadowed by the PLO Main Event, the final table was particularly challenging. All three main POY contenders – Martirosian, Foxen, and Punsri – made it to the final seven. While Foxen finished fifth and Punsri sixth, Martirosian found his way to the heads-up against PLO specialist Ben Tollerene.

The decisive hand came during a preflop all-in: Martirosian held K h K d T d 9 d, while Tollerene held A c K c J h 7 d. The dealer laid down two tens on the flop, deciding the outcome – Martirosian secured his third Triton title and virtually settled the POY question.

"It means a lot to me," said 28-year-old Martirosian. "When I started playing PLO, my primary goal was to win POY. I said from the first stop of this series that I would win it. It's more than any title – it's a lifetime achievement."
