New Face Among the PLO Elite

In the $50,000 PLO 6-Handed event, 40-year-old British Pot-Limit Omaha specialist Richard Gryko broke through for his first title on the prestigious Triton Poker Series. This landmark win came after years of obsessively studying one of poker's most challenging variants, and rewarded him with the biggest payday of his career: $884,000.

Gryko started out as an online player before earning a reputation as both a PLO coach and game theorist. His meticulous, analytical approach to the game paid off in spades. As he shared after his win: “PLO has evolved from pure gambling into a highly technical discipline. If you dedicate thousands of hours to studying the game, you’ll find countless interesting paths to take.”

This event drew a field of 62, generating a prize pool of more than $3 million. The final table was stacked with international talent, including Triton ambassador Danny Tang and renowned PLO pro Eelis Pärssinen. In the final heads-up, Gryko faced Martin Dam—who already had two runner-up finishes this series—and delivered a clinical performance, sealing his superiority through sharp technical play. “It was a battle out there. I had to keep adapting and searching for the right decisions in every spot,” the newly crowned champion reflected.

Silver Turns Into Gold

Just days earlier, Jason Koon made history with his record-breaking 11th Triton title, outlasting his longtime friend and coach, Ben Tollerene in heads-up. But Tollerene wasted no time shaking off that loss, and just three days later, he too joined the winners’ circle by claiming his own trophy!

Tollerene's victory came in the $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event, earning him a massive $2,390,000 and cementing his place among the game’s elite. With a record 93 entries and a prize pool north of $9 million, this was no soft field. Known for his precise execution, Tollerene put on a clinic from start to finish.

At the final table, Ben faced off against heavy hitters like Ike Haxton, Sam Greenwood, and Daniel Dvoress. The heads-up match came down to Tollerene and Hungary’s László Bujtás—two players who have logged hundreds of hours battling each other at online tables. With so much at stake, there was never any talk of a deal; chips swung back and forth until Tollerene finally secured his moment, lifting the coveted Triton trophy.
