The Super High Roller Bowl is among the most prestigious high roller events globally, and since 2023, it boasts a four-card PLO edition. The inaugural “SHRB PLO I” was dominated in 2023 by Jared Bleznick, who bested Isaac Haxton in the finals to claim $1,292,000; the format quickly earned the title of the world’s largest PLO buy-in. A year later, the title went to Seth Davies, who made a stunning comeback from just two big blinds to win $1,500,000.

This year's Super High Roller Bowl PLO took place from October 27-29, 2025, at the PokerGO Studio. The field reached 37 entries, creating a $3,700,000 prize pool. The prize pool was split among seven players, with a min-cash of $150,000 and $1,250,000 awaiting the winner.

After two days of play, five players reached the final table. As they sat down, all eyes were on Sam Soverel. The American set the pace, commanding nearly 75% of all chips in play. With swift eliminations of Artur Martirosyan and Joni Jouhkimainen, it seemed like a clear path to the title for him.

However, John Riordan, who started the day third in chips, refused to surrender and staged a remarkable comeback. First, he doubled through Soverel with higher two pairs, then held aces against a top pair. Following Joao Simao's elimination, Riordan entered heads-up as the challenger. The short but intense one-on-one phase concluded after Riordan called a massive river bet with a set of sevens and a couple of hands later hit the nut flush, sending Soverel to second place with $825,000. Riordan celebrated his life-changing victory with the SHRB PLO title, a unique ring, and a $1,250,000 prize—the largest of his career.
