The Biggest APT Festival in History

From November 14 to 30, Taipei hosts the largest festival in the history of the Asian Poker Tour – APT Championship Taiwan 2025. A record-breaking 203 tournaments are scheduled, including 20 prestigious Championship events. The series aims to break several Taiwanese and Asian records.

The program spans the entire poker spectrum: from low-stakes events to the biggest high-roller showdowns of the APT era. The Super High Roller Championship (NT$ 850K / ~$25.6K), elite High Roller Championship (NT$ 500k / ~$15K), and the prestigious Superstar Championship (NT$ 1.7M / ~$51K USD) are attracting significant attention. Fans of different variants can enjoy specialties like Mixed Games Championship, PLO Championship, and a rich selection of Mystery Bounty and Natural8 events.

The festival also includes 19 women’s tournaments, 25 satellites, and generous promotions from Natural8 offering special qualifying packages and bonuses for winners. And the biggest draw? The historically highest APT Main Event, this time in an unconventional freezeout format with a buy-in of NT$ 350,000 (~$10,550) and a guarantee of NT$ 165 million (~$5 million), officially kicked off its initial phases today, expecting a record-breaking and internationally diverse field.

Czech Hrabec Conquers the Richest APT Super High Roller in History

Czech professional Roman Hrabec achieved one of the biggest successes of his career in Taipei, triumphing with dominance in the record APT Super High Roller Championship. Competing against 81 entries, he conquered the richest side event in the history of the Asian Poker Tour at Red Space. For his spectacular performance, he took home TWD 13,398,721 (~$429,450), the prestigious 18-kilogram Rose Gold APT Lion Trophy, and a seat in the APTC Main Event worth $10,000.

From the start, the final day had only one king. Hrabec sat down as the chipleader and confirmed his position with every hand. His relentless pressure and tempo gradually led to the elimination of notable names, including Danny Tang and Manuel Fritz. The end of the tournament was swift and decisive. Hrabec entered heads-up against Thai professional Alex Wice with a two-to-one chip lead and needed just six hands to deliver the final blow.

In the last hand, the players went all-in pre-flop. Wice flipped K s J s, while Hrabec held Q h Q s. The flop 3 s 6 d Q d gave the Czech a set, nearly sealing the deal. The turn A c gave Wice hope for a straight, but the river 3 c completed Hrabec's full house, cementing his victory.

Rosalie Petit Dominates Record APT Women’s Championship

The women's highlight of the festival brought another historic milestone. The APT Women’s Championship, with a buy-in of TWD 35K (~$1,100), saw 119 entries, making it the largest women’s tournament with a buy-in over $1,000 in Asian history and placing it in the TOP 5 women's events outside Las Vegas. A prestigious Pewter Lion trophy and a prize of TWD 905,160 (~$29K) were up for grabs, drawing a stellar lineup including Sofia Lövgren, Monika Zukowicz, and two-time WSOP Ladies champion Shiina Okamoto.

French player Rosalie Petit shone the brightest, bulldozing through the final table after two days of dominant play. She eliminated the first two short stacks, gathered chips with aggressive play, and entered heads-up with an even stack against home player Yu Lun Huang. The duo agreed on a deal that effectively split the prize, leaving the title and trophy up for grabs.

It was decided quickly as Petit hit a set of jacks on the flop, sending the Pewter Lion to Europe. “This is a huge success and my largest and most beautiful trophy ever. It's a lion for a lioness. It's my second trophy; I had a small one before, so now it's a family,” said Petit immediately after her victory.
