The lucrative Poker Masters series returns to the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas, once again focusing on pure No-Limit Hold’em. The schedule comprises ten events with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to $25,200. As usual, these events are linked by a common leaderboard, where the series champion will not only earn a prestigious purple jacket but also a $25,000 PGT Passport and a hefty amount of points for the season-long ranking.
Previous winners of the purple jacket include Jim Collopy (2024), Stephen Chidwick (2023), Sean Winter (2022), Michael Addamo (2021), Sam Soverel (2019), and Steffen Sontheimer (2017). This year’s champion will be determined over the coming days, with the overall winner announced on October 2.
David Coleman Dominates the Opening Event
This year’s opening tournament introduced a $1,000,000 Showcase with a $5,300 buy-in. Attracting 239 entries, it boosted the prize pool to $1,195,000 (35 paid places; min-cash $8,600). For a long time during the final day, Andrew Ostapchenko reigned supreme, at one point controlling nearly half of all chips in play.
However, the tide began to turn as Stephen Song and Spencer Champlin doubled through the chipleader, evening the playing field. It was then that David Coleman took center stage. First, he sent Spencer Champlin packing in fifth place with pocket aces, followed by a key confrontation. Coleman, holding A d 8 d, faced Song's pair of K c K s, but a miraculous flop 2 d 5 d J d swung the scales in Coleman's favor, launching him into the chiplead.
Finally, an all in and a call during four-handed play! David Coleman and @songstephen11 get the money in.

Soon, Coleman entered heads-up against Halverson with more than a three-to-one chip lead, which he quickly leveraged to close the tournament. With QTs, Coleman hit two tens against Halverson's pocket fives, efficiently sealing the deal. Coleman thus marked his first “purple” victory of the year, pocketing $270,000 for his outstanding and patient play.
