Every online package winner at The Festival also scores entry to daily activities thanks to the Hospitality Package, and today's beautiful sunny weather made the most of it. Festival guests hit the pool, joined in for sports, frisbee showdowns, the classic Finnish game of Mölkky, and feasted on barbecue favorites straight from the grill.
Record-Breaking Flight 1E
Heading into Saturday's pivotal duo of Main Event flights, half the guaranteed prizepool had already been collected. Expectations were rising that turnout for both flights would be record-setting— and that's exactly what happened. Flight 1E, which got underway bright and early at 11:00, drew 229 entries across ten levels, locking up seats to the next round for the top 29 finishers.
Once registration closed for 1E, play moved straight into Day 1F. The tables were filling up with 50 players at kickoff. Before the cards officially hit the felt, series founder and Festival mastermind Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk welcomed players to the room, thanked them for showing up, and led a standing ovation in honor of the hardworking dealers and staff who make it all happen.
