The inaugural tournament of the PGT Mixed Games series at the PokerGO Studio in the ARIA Resort, Las Vegas, attracted 101 entries and created a $505,000 prize pool, with rewards for the top 15 finishers. The final table featured an intriguing lineup including Hall of Famer Eli Elezra, PGT Championship winner Chad Eveslage, elite pros Alex Livingston and Dylan Linde, and chipleader Brian Breck.
However, the greatest drama was delivered by Chino Rheem. At one point, he had less than one big blind, but he lived up to his reputation as a player who never gives up. A series of winning pots propelled him back into the game until he eventually reached the final heads-up.
In the final showdown, Rheem faced fellow countryman Dylan Linde. With evenly matched stacks, the players agreed to a deal, guaranteeing each $100,000, leaving the trophy and an extra $12,100 for the winner.
The pivotal hand came in the Stud Hi-Lo discipline. Dylan Linde completed a set of eights, but it was no match for Rheem’s full house. The victory gave Rheem his ninth PGT title, placing him fifth in the all-time PGT rankings, chasing legendary players like Sam Soverel (13), Alex Foxen (12), Stephen Chidwick (12), and Daniel Negreanu (11). This also marks his third title in the PGT Mixed Games series, reinforcing his versatility.
