The PartyPoker Tour is a popular UK live series that has already hit London (April 19-27) and Manchester (June 17-22) in 2025, moved to Glasgow over the summer (August 12-17), and is now taking place at Resorts World Genting Casino in Birmingham (October 11-19). The season is set to conclude with a fifth stop, details of which are yet to be announced. The series typically features accessible flagship tournaments like the £500 Main Event and the £150 Mini Main Event, forming part of roughly 20-tournament festivals.
While the Main Event in Birmingham is just kicking off, its "little brother," the £150 buy-in Mini Main Event, has already crowned its winner. This tournament offered six starting flights and exactly what players wanted: action from the first level right through to the title. With 660 entries recorded, the £50,000 guarantee was eclipsed, and the total prize pool soared to £82,500.
Fourteen players went into yesterday's final day, with a trophy and £14,370 awaiting the victor. Local player Robert Douras caught fire at the right moment—securing a vital double elimination with aces even before the final table, and he entered the final table as the chipleader. Daniel Bronson bowed out in ninth place, followed by Peter Carey, and the sole woman at the FT, Tak Wong, finished seventh. Douras dictated the pace of the game and unsurprisingly made his way to heads-up play.
The heads-up match against Tai Hoang was swift, lasting just a single hand. Douras found himself with pocket 7 c 7 h against Hoang's A h 8 c. The flop of 6 c 9 h 8 d left it open for either player. However, the turn T h delivered Douras the needed straight, and with the river 6 d, it was settled—runner-up Tai Hoang took £9,080, but the Mini Main Event title stayed in Birmingham with Robert Douras, along with the £14,370 prize.
