Guaranteed Prize Pool Slightly Surpassed
The festival at Rozvadov's casino once again demonstrated the power of mass poker. The Main Event, with a €199 buy-in, attracted an incredible 1,852 entries, resulting in a prize pool of €309,580, just surpassing the declared €300,000 guarantee. A total of 143 players advanced to the final day, securing an ITM finish, yet the trophy was still far from decided.
For those wanting to experience the final day's atmosphere, a livestream was available on YouTube. We've included the recording where you can find all the key moments that decided the winner:
After long hours of play, the final six players at the final table agreed on a deal, which then sped up the proceedings. Siarhei Narozhny and Juergen Echtle made it to heads-up after eliminating all other contenders, setting the stage for a battle for the title.
In the end, Siarhei Narozhny emerged victorious, needing only five hands to defeat his opponent. In the decisive hand, both players went all-in after the flop. On the board A h 7 c 5 c T d 3 c, both completed a flush, but Echtle's 8 c 4 c couldn't compete with Narozhny's K c 9 c.
Although the deal reduced the winner's prize, Narozhny still walked away with one of his highest career earnings and possibly his most prestigious title.
