John Wasnock (USA) – 108,100,000 (68 BB) – Chip leader
Leading the pack is the man penning a true fairytale – John Wasnock. At 50, the Washington player had just $143,000 in live tournament earnings before the Main Event, mostly playing low stakes. Nevertheless, he climbed from last place among the final 17 players to become the chipleader with 108,100,000 chips!
Despite lacking extensive experience, recent wins in smaller tournaments have bolstered his confidence. Wasnock is undoubtedly the tournament's biggest surprise, showing that even recreational players can dominate the Main Event.
Michael Mizrachi (USA) – 93,000,000 (58 BB)
Next up is the most accomplished player at the final table. Though Mizrachi hasn't been a full-time poker pro and returned after a year-long hiatus specifically for the WSOP, he's playing as if he never left. After claiming his record fourth title in the $50K Poker Players Championship, he's reached the Main Event final table for the second time in his career.
Fifteen years ago, he finished fifth, but now he aims to add the most coveted bracelet to his collection of seven WSOP bracelets. Luck has sided with him, as his compelling Day 8 comeback saw him rise from under three big blinds to second in chip count.
Braxton Dunaway (USA) – 91,900,000 (57 BB)
The Texas oilman is more of a semi-pro but boasts a gold bracelet from winning the Monster Stack in 2023. That victory, earning him $1,162,681, makes up most of his lifetime tournament earnings. Now, he's secured another seven-figure cash and a significant chance at a title that could change his life.
Kenny Hallaert (Belgium) – 80,500,000 (50 BB)
The 2016 finalist (6th place) is back! Hallaert has enjoyed a stellar career as a player, tournament director, and PokerStars ambassador. Slow to start this year, he surged during Days 6 and 7, ending as the chipleader.
Despite his lengthy career, the Belgian pro hasn't yet snagged a WSOP bracelet, and now he's set on capturing not just any bracelet but the most prestigious one there is.
Leo Margets (Spain) – 53,400,000 (33 BB)
Leonor "Leo" Margets is not just the last woman standing but the first female finalist at the WSOP Main Event since 1995 when Hall of Famer Barbara Enright made it this far. The Spanish pro, already a bracelet winner from the 2021 event "The Closer" with over $2 million in live earnings, is vying to become the first female WSOP Main Event champion in history.
If it weren't for Michael Mizrachi, all eyes would be on Margets. Regardless of her final table finish, she serves as an inspiration for the next generation of female players worldwide. "It's amazing. I'm living the dream every poker player wants," Margets said about her historic position.
Luka Bojovic (Serbia) – 51,000,000 (32 BB)
Serbian doctor Luka Bojovic has previously reached the finals in a Main Event, albeit in Europe. He finished 8th in the WSOP Europe Main Event last year. His final table presence here surpasses his previous career earnings, which were just over $700,000 before this tournament.
Adam Hendrix (USA) – 48,000,000 (30 BB)
The Alaskan pro is highly respected for his PokerGO Tour results and numerous deep runs at the WSOP. While he hasn't yet won a bracelet, he's made it to eleven WSOP final tables, nearly clinching one with a second-place finish in the $1,500 PLO8 event in 2017.
His run in this year’s Main Event has been consistent, ending each day among the temporary leaders.
Daehyung Lee (Korea) – 34,900,000 (22 BB)
The first Korean ever in a Main Event final is also the least known name among the finalists. Lee has only a few tournament results since 2024, with his top win being $34,240.
Jarod Minghini (USA) – 23,600,000 (15 BB)
The smallest stack belongs to the snowboarder from Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Minghini was just shy of $1 million in live earnings before this event but already has five WSOPC rings.
Million-Dollar Payouts Guaranteed for All Finalists
All finalists are assured at least $1,000,000, but the ultimate winner will take home an incredible $10,000,000, a diamond-studded bracelet, and eternal glory! The final nine players will return on Tuesday, July 15 at 1:30 p.m. local time, battling until only four remain. The tournament's concluding day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, also at 1:30 p.m. local time.
