In Peak Form
For Fahredin Mustafov, this victory marks a new career high and confirms his exceptional form in 2025. His momentum carried over from his summer success at the WSOP, where he reached two final tables: a fifth-place finish in the $3,000 PLO 6-Handed, earning $108,000, and a sixth-place in the $50K High Roller 8-Max, netting $470,000. He also secured five additional ITM finishes at the WSOP and shone at the Wynn Summer Classic. According to The Hendon Mob earnings leaderboard, he ranks third among Bulgarian players, and this second career million-dollar score brings him closer to second place among his compatriots.
Path to the Title and the Rapid Heads-Up
At the start of the final table, Mustafov found himself in a tricky spot that could have ended disastrously. Holding K s K h, he faced Kenar with A d K c and Wantman with 6 s 5 s. The flop 6 c A h 6 h was favorable for both opponents, but he read the situation well and folded. He then made more solid decisions and began to increase his stack.
He eliminated Russian Viacheslav Buldygin in fifth place and advanced to the top three alongside Kenar and Wantman. A critical battle ensued with Wantman, who found a third ten on the flop but was bested by Mustafov's flush on the turn. This massive pot thrust Mustafov into a commanding chiplead that he never relinquished.
Wantman again stumbled against Mustafov, this time with a pair of nines, falling short against a straight Mustafov completed on the river. This marked the end of the road for the American player, who finished in third place.
Entering heads-up with a huge advantage, Mustafov sealed the victory on the very first hand. "Kenar" went all-in with A d 6 c, but Mustafov swiftly called with A h J d. The board 7 c Q d 3 d T s 8 s brought no surprises, and Fahredin Mustafov was crowned the new champion. Alongside the seven-figure payday, he earned valuable points in the Onyx Player of the Series rankings.
