The prestigious million-dollar Poker Atlas Series tournament took place at the Venetian during the ongoing Deepstack Extravaganza Poker Series. Thanks to massive participation, it was undeniably a success. A total of 615 entries surpassed the guarantee, distributing a $1,214,625 prize pool among players. The distribution began on Day 2, with 78 players sharing the prize, while the largest shares were reserved for the final seven.
A diverse mix of styles and stories came together for the streamed finale. Starting the day in the best position was Agharazi Babayev from Azerbaijan. However, American regulars Joseph Cheong, Iman Dan, Alexander Yen, Jason Hickey, Robert Borick, and Englishman Alex Whitenstall were also in the mix. The fast-paced final lasted three hours, allowing viewers to watch it live via stream:
After three short stacks exited, it still seemed Babayev might convert his chipleader advantage into a heads-up spot. However, the final table is unforgiving—eventually, the Azerbaijani finished fourth, securing $76,591, leaving space for others to shine. Alexander Yen claimed the bronze and took home $104,125.
Cheong Seals the Deal Against Iman Dan
The last two standing were Joseph Cheong and Iman Dan—two Americans who reached the finale by different paths but with the same goal. Joseph Cheong, known online as "subiime," withstood the final pressure and wrapped up the event triumphantly, earning himself the title, trophies, and $200,706. Dan finished second, collecting $143,554.
With this victory, Cheong once again reminded everyone why his name commands respect across decades—from the online "subiime" era to live final tables where the biggest prizes and trophies are at stake. At the Venetian, he added another title to his collection and $200,706 as a clear end to a tournament with a $1,000,000 guarantee.
