The Asian Poker Tour (APT), which had a stop in Taipei from April 25 to May 4, had as many as 126 events scheduled during the festival. Players from more than fifty countries managed to collect a total prize pool of over 20 million dollars, making this APT series one of the biggest and most expensive in its history.
Also making the history of this year's APT Taipei is one of the greatest poker gentlemen, John Juanda, who has more than 26 million dollars in live tournament winnings. The four-time WSOP gold bracelet winner entered the one-day Single Day High Roller tournament. The buy-in for the tournament was 85,000 Taiwanese dollars, which is approximately $2,800. In a field of 230 participants, he managed to reach victory, for which he took home about $110,401.
