We all still have the accusation of cheating, which has been raised on the head of Argentine professional Nach Barbero. During an online tournament called The Venom, he boasted on social media about a photo from the game, but failed to notice that the open GTO Wizard solver, which is banned from the game, was clearly visible in the photo.
Nacho defended himself by saying that he didn't use the solver while playing the game, but while coaching his players. The online gaming company ACR Poker, of which Nacho is an ambassador, has also commented on the accusations. ACR Poker defended its ambassador and said that Nacho certainly did not cheat.
It didn't take long for another case with the same problem to be brought to light. But now ACR Poker ambassador Ebony Kenney, who also had an open solver during the game, was in the spotlight. In this case too, the online gaming company stood up for Ebony, and pointed out that the integrity of the game is an absolute priority for them. In both cases, they stated that they had reviewed the players' actions and had not detected any use of the solver during the game.
Nacho's confession directly during the stream
A new controversy surrounding the ACR Poker emerged yesterday and once again Nacho Barbero is in the spotlight. He participated in one of the U.S. Poker Open, specifically the latest $25,200 buy-in tournament with 73 entries.
During the first day of play, Nacho sat at a live streamed table with Isaac Haxton sitting alongside him. And it was between this two that the controversy took place:
Nacho: "50/50 - solver said. I should never have posted about that GTO Wizard, how would they know? I should have never posted it."
Haxton: "I'm surprised ACR didn't catch it automatically."
Nacho: (Laughing) "Are you surprised?"
Haxton: "So you have GTO Wizard open at the same time as you're playing and ACR doesn't even know? Do they even make any effort to detect it?"
Nacho: "I don't think so."
Anyone watching the livestream immediately perked up at this debate. Snipped portions of this conversation immediately flooded the social network X (Twitter) and a heated discussion ensued. Several commenters asked if Nacho was really so rude as to say this directly during the livestream.
(The discussion runs from 03:05:00 to 03:06:00)
The online gaming company itself immediately weighed in on the new controversy, releasing a statement saying, "At ACR, we take our gaming integrity and responsibility to provide a fair and competitive environment for all players seriously. We expect the same from the ambassadors who represent our brand. This expectation has been tested greatly this year, and in light of recent comments made by Ambassador Nacho Barbero on a poker livestream - comments that misrepresented our stance on third-party software and game integrity - we have already reached out to Nacho to discuss the incident and consider his future at ACR Poker."
