Over the past week, Europe’s largest poker room hosted the France Poker Festival—a series that drew players from across the continent, all gunning for glory in the Main Event. With a buy-in of just 190€ and a guaranteed prize pool of 500,000€, the tournament quickly became one of the season’s hottest tickets, racking up 2,545 total entries from across Europe.
After two intense days of play, the enormous field had been whittled down to just 40 contenders for the final showdown. Yesterday, those remaining players faced a marathon session, battling through more than 11 hours at the tables. Poker fans could follow the drama every step of the way with a live stream, which you can revisit here:
Six hours into the final day, the last nine players took their seats at the final table. At this point, Germany’s own Tuckman led the field as chip leader, entering the final stretch with the biggest stack in play. Tuckman managed to convert that advantage into a 4th place finish, earning 15,280€ and an entry to the WSOP Europe Main Event.
When Romanian representative Paul Covaciu bowed out in third place, the tournament came down to an all-German heads-up battle between Roland Haddad and Wheeler. Throughout the Main Event, Haddad impressed with consistent, disciplined play, and brought a commanding 4:1 chip lead into the final duel. It didn’t take long for him to turn that advantage into victory — a few minutes later, he sealed the win. Wheeler took home 30,880€ and a WSOP Europe Main Event seat for his runner-up finish, but the trophy—and the top prize of 55,880€ plus a seat in one of Europe’s poker showpieces—went to Roland Haddad. Congratulations to the new champion!
