Tournament Progress

The initial flights 1A, 1B, and 1C started off the GCPS Million slowly but steadily. Together, they brought in 178 players and 76 re-entries, collecting 259 entries and amassing a prizepool of 246,700 CHF after the first three days. Thursday's flight 1D marked a significant turning point – 148 players and 73 re-entries resulted in 221 entries and an additional 221,000 CHF to the pot. Friday brought another two flights, bringing the total to 593 entries (400/193) and 585,700 CHF in the pool, while the shadow of a significant overlay loomed over the tournament.

Saturday's schedule featured the last two 'classic' flights – 1G at 1:00 PM and 1H at 6:00 PM. Both played with a starting stack of 50,000 chips, as 1G had 40-minute levels and the evening 1H had 30-minute levels. Expectations that 1G would be the largest flight of the entire tournament were confirmed. By the noon start, 178 players had joined, adding 74 re-entries. The result was 252 entries and 252,000 CHF into the prizepool. From this flight, 30 players secured a spot in Day 2, with Tolga Can Kiyak emerging as the chipleader, accumulating 1,235,000 chips. Notable figures like Claudio Picci (740,000), Ramon Lampert (342,000), and Thomas Hofmann (176,000) also advanced.

The evening flight 1H added 81 players and 24 re-entries, totaling 105 entries and 105,000 CHF. Thirteen players succeeded, with Israeli Gabi Livshiez taking the absolute lead with 1,300,000 chips, dominating not only Day 1H but also securing the overall chip lead going into Day 2. Altogether, the GCPS Million recorded 950 entries (675 entrances + 275 re-entries) and a prizepool of 942,700 CHF. At least 117 players have already secured their progression to Day 2, with only 57,300 CHF remaining to meet the million guarantee.

Last Chance for Overlay

The final opportunity to join the million race is today's Sunday flight GCPS Million 1I – Hyper Turbo starting at 11:15. The buy-in remains at 1,100 CHF (1,000 + 100), with a starting stack of 50,000 chips, but the pace will be remarkably fast: 10-minute levels ensure the action will resemble a sprint more than a marathon. Hyper Turbo 1I will definitively close all entries to the tournament, and this morning flight will determine whether the million-dollar guarantee is met, exceeded, or if an overlay remains for the casino.

At 3:00 PM, all progressing players will meet in Day 2, aiming to edge closer to the final table. You can look forward to a live stream of this day, and of course, the big Monday finale will also be broadcast live.
