GCPS Master: With Five Flights and 619 Entries, Today Decides a 300K Guarantee

Article cover

After a lengthy hiatus, major poker tournaments have returned to Grand Casino Liechtenstein. The new Grand Casino Poker Series (GCPS) festival spans three events with a total guarantee of 1.8 million Swiss francs. The first event, the current GCPS Master, features a Main Event with a 330 CHF buy-in and a 300,000 CHF guarantee. The battle for this guarantee is in full swing, and following five initial flights, approximately 175,000 CHF has been collected from 619 entries. To meet the guarantee, nearly 125,000 CHF is still needed, requiring about 400 more entries in the remaining flights.

Initial tournament days saw solid participation, but the ambitious guarantee remains unmet. After the first three flights, attention turned to Friday, which featured two flights. The early flight 1D recorded just 66 entries, while the evening flight 1E added another 112 entries. From Friday's flight 1E, Azad Dündar from Germany bagged the most chips (938,000), but remains in third overall, trailing leaders Feistle and Lampert.

Currently, the numbers after five flights stand at 619 entries, contributing 174,250 CHF to the prizepool. So far, 74 players have secured a spot in Day 2 and guaranteed ITM status. The current chipleader is German player Simon Fabian Feistle with a stack of 1.482 million, followed by Liechtenstein's own staple, Ramon Lampert (1.314 million).

Final Battles Conclude Today

A significant number of entries are still needed to meet the 300,000 CHF guarantee, but the weekend is expected to bring the largest influx of players. Three final flights remain, and organizers are optimistic that high participation will surpass the guaranteed prizepool. Today (Saturday) features two last classic flights (1F at 13:00 and 1G at 17:00), with standard 30-minute levels.

The last chance to join the tournament is the Sunday flight 1H Turbo, with dynamic 15-minute levels starting at 11:30. Subsequently, on Sunday at 17:00, all progressing players will gather for Day 2, and you can follow their journey to the final day live via our stream. It's only a matter of hours whether the necessary entries will be collected to meet the guarantee or if players in Liechtenstein will enjoy an overlay from the ambitiously set prizepool. We wish all participants the best and will be watching to see how it all unfolds!
