Results from Flights 1C, 1D, and 1E

After five of the planned eight initial flights (1A to 1E), the CHF 500+50 GCPS Championship has already recorded 642 entries (474 unique players +168 re-entries), and the prize pool has grown to CHF 312,400. This represents nearly two-thirds of the guaranteed CHF 500,000, leaving around CHF 188,000 still required to meet the guarantee.

A record flight came on Thursday when a massive player turnout resulted in 280 entries. Thursday's Flight 1C pushed Swiss player "Pero" to the position of overall chipleader, becoming the first to break the million-chip mark with 1,313,000 chips. Also crossing the seven-figure line, "Nexo F. Xela" bagged a stack of 1,029,000, placing second for now.

The two Friday flights were somewhat more relaxed, with the earlier one (1D) recording 98 entries in total, while the evening flight (1E) added another 92 entries to the guarantee. Friday's flights attracted some familiar faces, with players like Switzerland's Sandra Bellafiore (298,000), Italy's Samuel Marseiler (494,000), and Austria's Andreas Fröhli (177,000) securing their spots in 1D and 1E. Friday's action also saw another big stack—Swiss player "Der Fischflüsterer" dominated the 1E evening flight with 845,000 chips, taking fourth place overall.

The Final Flights to Decide It All

The CHF 500,000 guarantee is yet to be reached, and the remaining three flights will decide everything. Today (Saturday), two of these flights are scheduled—flight 1F will kick off at 1:00 PM, followed by flight 1G at 5:00 PM.

On Sunday morning, latecomers will have their last chance in the turbo flight 1H, which, with its 15-minute levels, is hugely popular among players wanting to condense the tournament experience and immediately play Day 2. Anyone still not involved has the opportunity to compete for a place in Day 2 and a share of the half-million prize pool.
