First Champion of the GCPS Master Series Crowned: France's Mathieu Choffardet

The Grand Casino Liechtenstein’s new poker series, Grand Casino Poker Series Masters (GCPS Master), promised an impressive 300,000 CHF prize pool, which was almost collected. Thanks to 1,003 entries, the total reached 289,450 CHF. Yesterday, in front of our cameras, the battle took place at the final table, from which the first champion of this tournament emerged.

The final battles of the GCPS Master kicked off at 5 PM with nine potential champions. Michele Falcone from Italy took the chipleader position with nearly 9 million chips. All final table participants secured 3,790 CHF plus a 550 CHF ticket to the GCPS Championship in October. However, the winner was set to claim a trophy and a nice reward of 50,750 CHF.

The battles at the final table lasted nearly eight hours, concluding with the crowning of the champion. In the final heads-up, Michele Falcone faced off with 32 million chips, translating to 106 BB, against Mathieu Choffardet with an 18 million stack. The heads-up duel lasted about an hour and a half, during which Choffardet gained momentum and Falcone faltered.

In the evening's final hand, Falcone pushed all-in with Qd Tc on the turn of Jh Qs 8s Ts. Mathieu Choffardet called with 9d 8h, clinching the title after the river card (Kh). Choffardet will forever remember his first visit to Grand Casino Liechtenstein, emerging as the sole undefeated player and taking home 50,570 CHF, a 550 CHF ticket to the GCPS Championship, and an exquisite trophy.
