Apart from the European version of the WSOP series, currently taking place at King’s Resort Online, the WSOP online edition is also in its final week. While there are still some exciting tournaments left, the Main Event has already crowned its champion. With a $25 million guarantee, the event recorded 5,961 entries, resulting in a prize pool of $28,314,750.
Yesterday, nine players returned to the final table to battle for the championship bracelet and nearly $4 million. Just days ago, we informed you that the live stream of this table would feature a special guest: WSOP legend Phil Hellmuth. Phil embraced his new role with flair, and you can watch the three-hour final here:
Finale Marked by Ben's Unstoppable Run
The final table saw German pro, streamer, and esteemed coach Benjamin Rollen entering as the chipleader, making back-to-back appearances (last year finishing eighth, earning $651,921).
From the outset, Ben set the tone by winning a key hand with A d K s against Christoforou's pocket 7 d 7 h, hitting a straight on the flop and eliminating his opponent in seventh place. Shortly after, he called Santiagos Plante's all-in (K s 7 c) with A h T d, cruising through a safe board and ensuring his comfortable chiplead, surpassing the combined stacks of his four rivals.
It wasn't long before it was heads-up between Ben and Russian regular Anatoly Zlotnikov. Within five minutes, it was all over: first, Rolle's A d K h dominated Zlotnikov's K c J s preflop all-in, and soon after sealed the victory with K s Q s against A s 9 h. A king on the flop and another on the river confirmed his sensational run.
