A Main Event Final to Remember
Everything has already been said about this year’s EPT Main Event – all that remained was to reveal the name of the champion. After five days of intense play, only one of the six finalists, out of the original 1,195 entries, could claim the prestigious title.
Bulgarian pro Boris Angelov entered the final day as chip leader, hoping to improve on his runner-up finish from last year. Many believed he was destined to lift the trophy this time, but it wasn’t to be. Angelov ultimately finished third, earning €439,200.
The tournament concluded with an epic four-hour heads-up battle between Aleksandr Shevliakov of Russia and Amir Kokhestani of Ukraine. Chips swung back and forth in a hard-fought duel, but it was Shevliakov who emerged victorious. Amazingly, the Russian had qualified online and turned his €530 investment into a massive €1,000,000 payday.

Pedro Chaves Conquers the High Roller
While the Main Event final was in full swing, the €25k EPT High Roller final table also played out, featuring a similar prize pool. With 226 total entries, the tournament generated a massive €5,426,260 prize pool. Among those chasing the seven-figure top prize, Argentinian pro Jose Ignacio "Nacho" Barbero began the final table as chip leader but fell to 7th place, cashing for €197,100.
The title eventually went to Pedro Chaves of Brazil, who defeated France’s Thomas Santerne in heads-up to claim a life-changing €1,146,000. Until now, Chaves had only $33,000 in total recorded winnings on Hendon Mob, but this single result launched him into the top 30 on Brazil’s all-time money list.
