EPT Prague: Eureka Main Event becomes largest ever thanks to 4,403 entries

The biggest ever Eureka Main Event in Prague registered 4,403 entries. 659 players advanced to Day 2, including many famous faces.

The European Poker Tour Prague is already in full swing and hunderds of players from all around the world are in the game. One of the highlights, the Eureka Main Event, welcomed record player pool and made history at this event.

€1,100 ME Eureka breaks last year's record
 

Yes that's right. The Eureka Main Event broke last year's record and increased the number of entries to a remarkable 4,403, making it the biggest Eureka tournament ever held in Prague. The prizepool has climbed to a record €4,226,880, which will be contested by 659 advancers. Follow along with us to see who will be crowned champion of this record-breaking event.

Yesterday was the last two opening days of play. Day 1e generated a whopping 1,511 entries, of which 227 players made it to Day 2. Day 1f saw 855 entries and 127 players enjoyed advancement in the last flighter. 

The payout structure will be announced in the afternoon, when we will find out how much the champion will get. Day 2 kicks off today at 12:00, and 659 players will battle it out for the championship.


€25,000 Highroller
 

The first of the Highrollers was also played yesterday, with the buy-in set at €25,000. The tournament, which is all about prestige, saw 15 players enter, creating a prizepool of €360,150. Players such as Dimitar Danchev, Ognyan Dimov, Ole Schemion, Steve O'Dwyer, and the winner of the €10,200 NL Holdem event , Tamas Adamszki, were all in contention for the prestigious title. The champion in the end was Teun Mulder, who is currently attacking the top spot on the All-Time money list in the Netherlands. He pocketed €180,150 for the win, for which we congratulate him.
