EPT Prague: 2,037 entries registered in Eureka Main Event so far, last chance to advance today

Another day of play at the Eureka Main Event saw an excellent turnout. In a very competitive field, we also recognized many famous names that are assured of a seat in Day 2. The title of the €10,200 NL Holdem event goes to Hungary thanks to Tamas Adamszky.

The European poker community is gathering in the Czech capital these days. Prague hosts another edition of the EPT Prague tournament series, which has been breaking records for the past years. The series, which will feature a large number of events, kicked off on December 6 and will continue until December 17, when we will get to know the last champions.

The €1,100 Eureka Main Event resumed on Day 1c and 1d

Most of the attention is currently focused on the €1,100 Eureka Main Event, which broke the record for most entries a year ago. Last year's 4,017 entries will be hard to catch up with, as the current edition has seen 2,037 entries over four flights, and the last two flights are still to come. The champion - Pieter Theelen - took home €496,760 a year ago.

  • Day 1a: 304 entries, 45 players advanced
  • Day 1b: 122 entries, 18 players advanced
  • Day 1c: 1,138 entries, 171 players advanced
  • Day 1d: 473 entries, 71 players advanced

The last two opening days of play are scheduled for today, when we will find out if last year's record can be broken. The winner of the Eureka Main Event won't be revealed until the final table on December 11. We'll definitely be keeping our fingers crossed for our players to take home the biggest payday possible.

The €10,200 NL Holdem has met its champion

Another tournament that attracted only 17 players on the opening day continued with the second day of play. On Day 2, registration was open for two more levels, when more interested players were able to join the tournament. In the end, the tournament managed to produce 35 entries, which meant a prizepool of €339,500.

Tamas Adamszky from Hungary managed to dominate the tournament, turning a €10,200 investment into a handsome €117,150 prize. Tamas Adamszki held his own against players such as Steve O'Dwyer and Dimitar Danchev, who already hold EPT titles.
