A Champion Will Be Crowned Today
With 1,195 total entries, this year’s Main Event became the second-largest in EPT Monte Carlo history. And now, only six players remain standing. Each has secured a minimum payout of €199,750, but only one will walk away with €1,000,000 and the prestigious golden EPT trophy.
Final table payouts:
# | Price (€) |
1. | 1.000.000 |
2. | 615.000 |
3. | 439.200 |
4. | 337.900 |
5. | 259.900 |
6. | 199.750 |
Day 5 saw the return of the final 18 contenders, led by Russia’s Aleksandr Shevliakov, who maintained his strong run and brings the second-biggest stack of 7,250,000 (60 BB) into the finale. However, it’s Boris Angelov who topped the leaderboard, bagging 8,400,000 (70 BB) and once again putting himself in prime position for the title.
Exactly one year ago, Angelov was at this same table, where he fell short after a grueling six-hour heads-up battle against Derk van Luijk. Now, he has a second chance—and possibly his best yet—to rewrite that ending. “It’s crazy. Statistically, this shouldn’t be happening—but here I am, ready,” Angelov said after Day 5.
