Fast Start from the First Minute

The tournament at the iconic WTC Sheraton in São Paulo attracted the elite of both South American and global high-stakes players. A total of 44 entries pushed the prizepool to an impressive $1,320,000.

Day 2 saw 11 players advance from Day 1, with another 13 registering at the last minute. Nearly half the field boasted at least one WSOP bracelet, underscoring the high-caliber lineup. Among the participants were Joao Simao and Mehdi Chaoui, who had dominated the first two High Rollers earlier in the series.

The day started with rapid eliminations, with ten players exiting in the first half-hour. As the bubble approached, the tempo slowed as every chip counted. Ultimately, Ivan Luca became the last unfortunate player before the ITM positions, marking his third consecutive final table after finishing second in the 10K High Roller and fourth in the 20K High Roller.

Kabrhel’s Comeback in Heads-Up

The final table was dominated by two players — Martin Kabrhel and Ottomar Ladva. Both systematically eliminated opponents and controlled the pace. This duo eventually faced off in the concluding heads-up.

Ottomar Ladva entered the heads-up with a significant lead, which he extended by crushing Kabrhel in a limped pot. The chip difference was 14:1 in Ladva's favor after this hand. Kabrhel had only 6 big blinds left, and it seemed like a pivotal moment in the heads-up. However, Kabrhel survived, doubled up, then doubled up again, and eventually took control.

The Czech player enjoyed these moments, entertaining everyone around with his characteristic flair. Only Ladva appeared less amused, reflecting a bit of frustration. In the decisive hand, Kabrhel challenged Ladva with an all-in holding 3 h 3 d, and Ladva called with Q c 7 h. Kabrhel’s pair held, sealing his epic comeback.

After the winning hand, Kabrhel erupted with a victorious shout of “VAMOS!” echoing through the hall. He modestly commented on his win, saying, “I got really lucky.” You can watch the entire final day's action from the YouTube stream available live:
