Final Table Drama: Kabrhel Succumbs to Brazilian Majority
The final day saw nine players return to the WTC Sheraton, each vying for a shot at history. Among the nine finalists was the global star, controversial Czech showman Martin Kabrhel, the sole non-Brazilian at the final table. Starting with the smallest stack, Kabrhel was swiftly eliminated in 9th place.
Kabrhel's quick exit was not indicative of the final's pace. On the contrary, the game slowed considerably, with the next elimination taking four long hours.
Fillipi's path to victory was far from easy. Nearing elimination, the eventual champion barely made it to the final table. Fillipi was the chipleader in Day 1, but entered Day 4 as the last of 24 players, clawing back through a series of double-ups. On the final table, he faced another hurdle when he lost to Gregory Fabião and became a short stack. However, he soon doubled up against the same opponent when his Aces held strong against Kings.
As more players fell away, Pedro Padilha's elimination in 4th marked the conclusion of 11 hours of final table action.

Swift Conclusion After a Deal
The last three players, Alen Fillipi, Diones Lopes, and Matheus Grazziotin, agreed on a deal, turning the marathon into a sprint. With the deal, Fillipi secured $521,000, Lopes $519,400, and Grazziotin $423,000. Still in play were $162,600, the prestigious BSOP trophy, and the champion's title.
The decisive moment came in the first hand with three players. Fillipi and Lopes built a massive pot representing 80 percent of the chips in play. Fillipi went all-in with K s 6 s against Lopes' A d Q s. Luck was on Fillipi's side as he completed a flush on the board 8 s 5 h Q c 2 s 9 s.
Heading into heads-up with a significant chip lead, Fillipi needed just one more hand to clinch victory. The deciding board T s 4 s 5 d J d 6 h brought two pairs for both players. Grazziotin went all-in with 5 s 4 c, but Fillipi called with the winning hand J h 4 d.
Alen Fillipi recorded his career-highlight victory, nearly doubling his career earnings. He was emotional after securing the title: “It's a dream. The poker elite played in this tournament. I had a really good day. Sometimes you just feel it, and I knew today was my day.”
