The oldest and longest-running poker series outside of Las Vegas has been making history for 43 years, and 2024 won't break that streak. The event that's on the bucket list of every poker enthusiast in the world will take place this year on March 25-April 1 at the Royal Dublin Society.
During the aforementioned dates, poker enthusiasts will be in for a treat - in addition to the non-stop cash game action, there are a total of 35 diverse events with buy-ins ranging from €115 to €5,000. But all eyes will be on the €1,150 Main Event, which carries a €1,000,000 guarantee.
The aforementioned million-dollar guarantee will be a mere formality according to many, however, and everyone is aiming for much higher targets. Last year, in fact, the biggest Irish Open ever managed to produce 2,491 entries, making the prizepool worth €2,428,475. The champion then was David Docherty, who took home €365,000.
Year-on-year, the 2023 edition brought a 22% increase in the number of entries, and if this math is repeated, we can even think about beating the 3 million prizepool this year. There will also be live streaming as part of the event, so if you can't make it to Dublin, you'll be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the event at least remotely from the comfort of your own home.
