Triton: Dimitar Danchev wins his first Triton title and $804,000

Three Bulgarians sat at the final table of Triton Event #7, which was the Mystery Bounty tournament. In the end, one of them managed to win the title and it is Dimitar Danchev, for whom this is the first Triton title.

We've already told you the results of the GGMillion$ tournament, so it's time to take a look at the other two tournaments that also took place. The first will be event number 7, which was the $40,000 NLH 7-Handed Mystery Bounty.

He brought in 190 entries, making the prizepool $3,800,000. 48 players advanced to the final day, but only 31 of them could make it to the ITM. The bubble-boy here was Fedor Holz.

The Czech representative Roman Hrabec also made his way to the final table here again, finishing 17th and taking home $50,500. Players will be unwrapping their bounty envelopes the following day, so we don't know the bounties yet.

Three Bulgarians at the final table

The final table now had not 9 but only 8 seats. And there were a lot of big names among the top ones. There was also a trio of Bulgarians, which is something you don't see very often, and Dimitar Danchev started straight in as chipleader.

3-way all-in knocked out two players right away

Right at the start of the final table, we saw a 3-way all-in situation that saw Sean Winter and Yulian Bogdanov bust out. Alex Kulev took care of eliminating them.

Chris Brewer (6th place - $186,000), Orpen Kisacikoglu (5th place - $244,800) and Alex Kulev (4th place - $310,000) also went to the cash in succession. The last three players included recent Triton champion Adrian Mateos, who thus had a chance to win his second title in a short time.

Once again a heads-up reversal

Adrian didn't take this chance, however, and ended up finishing in third place, which was valued at $381,000. The final heads-up match pitted Bulgaria's Dimitar Danchev and American Jonathan Jaffe against each other. It was Jaffe who started here as the chip leader with a stack of up to 70bb against 25 blinds.

As we have become accustomed to during the current Triton Jeju edition, heads-up play always brings a twist. It was no different here. Jaffe gradually lost his chips and Danchev took the chip lead, never letting his chance to win his first Triton title out of his hands. On the last hand, Danchev went all in for nearly 30 million with A-4, which was immediately answered by Jaffe with J-10. The board produced two aces, allowing Danchev to rejoice in the title and the $804,000 reward. As he admitted himself, however, he is most happy about winning the trophy. Jonathan Jaffe took home $541,000 for his second place finish.

As mentioned earlier, players will collect their bounty envelopes the following day, so we don't currently know who took home how much in these rewards. The minimum value in the envelope is $40,000 and the maximum is up to $500,000.
