The Bahamian PCA is back and with it a unique PSPC event!
Every fan of the European EPT poker tour is certainly familiar with the acronym PCA, under which a stop in the Paradise of Bahamas has been hidden for many years. It was very popular, and the spectators were saddened in September 2019, when PS announced the cancellation of this stop. The dark covid times followed, during which live poker went to the background and the whole tour took a forced break. It was ended by the Prague EPT stop from March of this year ended, which you could watch live with us in a 5-day live stream marathon.
Another announced event will be a stop in the luxurious Monte-Carlo at the end of this month, where we can once again expect a poker crème de la crème from around the world. And we bring you even more good news - already in January 2023, the Bahamian PCA will return, which will also include the unique PS Players Championship!
The entire festival will take place from January 22 to February 3, with the PSPC owning the last five days of the festival. The venue will also change, and the PCA will move from Atlantis to Baha Mar, one of the most luxurious resorts on the islands: "We missed live events very much, and it is all the more gratifying for us to announce PCA's return to the Bahamas. Beautiful location, hundreds of qualifiers and millions in prizes - if you have to choose only one festival in your life, it should definitely be thr PCA! ”Said Severin Rasset, PS's executive director, immodestly.
The last winner of the PCA ME on January 17, 2019 was Chino Rheem, who handled a field of 865 players and took home $1,567,100 from the 8.4 million prize pool. However, due to his tarnished reputation, Scott Wellenbach, a poker philanthropist who qualified for the event for only $500, won the hearts of the fans. He then converted the third place in $671,240 prize, which he donated to charity.
As for the announced PS Players Championship, this time it will also take the form of a $25,000 tournament, in which Platinum Pass tickets will be distributed throughout the year, both in online activities and in various live circuits. This unique event in its first edition produced up to 1,039 entries, and the field made up of qualifiers and world professionals thus played for a total prize pool of $26,455,500. The fairy-tale moneymaker story was finally written in this tournament by qualifier Ramon Colillas, who added $5,100,000 and one of the most beautiful trophies in history on his resume!
