The accusations are piling up, more players are asking for money from Dwan!

The recent scandal in which Peter Jetten brought to light the financial debts of the legendary Tom Dwan has apparently started a machine in which more and more players are coming forward as unpaid creditors!

Just a few weeks ago, we brought you news of Tom Dwan being accused by Peter Jetten for not paying his debts. Almost a quarter of a million dollars was said to have not been paid to Jetten for over four years, during which time he listened only to excuses and postponements of deadlines. But the poker community was quick to react to the case, resulting in another big name claiming that the former poker GOAT, owes him a seven-figure sum for over a decade.

This week, Jetten again tweeted that since the aforementioned tweet, Dwan had sent him $30,000 (of the $226,000 owed), with the understanding that he would pay him the rest in Jeju, where Triton is currently underway. He assured his creditor that if he didn't keep his word, he would pay him an extra $25k. After Jetten refused, however, Dwan supposedly changed his rhetoric and started calling Jetten a liar and a cheat.

Another lender on the scene

The shift in the whole case has prompted Haralabob Voulgaris to come out into the open, saying that Dwan has owed him large sums of money for more than a decade. In a long series of tweets on his Twitter account, he wrote an extensive story about Tom's bets with one of the biggest bookmakers in the world that nearly bankrupted him.

In linked tweets, Voulgaris confirmed that he and Dwan made a deal regarding sports betting (Dwan made the bets to hide Voulgaris' identity) where they both won seven figures, but Dwan never paid him his share because he lost everything. This story has been talked about for years, and Voulgaris confirmed that this video of Doug Polk from six years ago is true:

Voulgaris also revealed that he only recovered most of that money because an unnamed third party owed Dwan a seven-figure sum of money, but paid it to Voulgaris instead of Dwan. Even so, according to Voulgaris, Dwan would still be owed approximately $350,000 at the present time.

Dwan strikes back

Self-proclaimed detective and investigative vlogger Doug Polk has called on the poker public and anyone who is owed money by Dwan to come forward, so we can expect a video with more facts of the whole case soon. Tom is currently in Jeju, Korea, where he has already managed to play the $25k Silver Main Event during the Triton Series, but did not make it to the ITM. After a long time, he has finally responded to the allegations, and in an exclusive 45-minute interview with PokerNews, he practically denied everything and said that the truth is elsewhere.

He further elaborated on his defensive claims on his Twitter account, where he was unblocked on March 9. But here too, his posts are in the same vein - he vigorously denies everything, calls Voulgaris' story a lie, and even turns over a new leaf with Jetten - instead of the aforementioned $226,000 debt, he says it is Jetten who owes Tom the money! He and Voulgaris are said to have called each other together, and the result, according to Dwan, was a 40-minute conversation full of shouting and swearing.

What do you think, are these allegations true and is Tom in trouble in your opinion? How do you feel about his involvement in the Triton high roller series and his responses to the allegations? Let us know in the comments on our social media!
