Ren Lin is the Alpha8 champion, taking home $1.045.781

Overnight, the final table of the $50,000 buy-in WPT Alpha8 took place. Martin Kabrhel was in contention for the winner's prize of over $1 million. The winner in the end was Ren Lin.

After the huge $1,000,000 buy-in One Drop, the WPT Alpha8 took place. This tournament brought in 69 entries, making the prizepool worth $3,346,500. A trophy and a prize of $1,045,781 awaited the winner.

13 players made it to yesterday's final table, but only 9 of them were able to make it to the ITM. The chipleader here was Seth Davies with a stack of 1,990,000.

Stacks at the start of the final day:

Justin Bonomo was the first to walk away with the ninth-place prize, earning $108,761. He was followed by Isaac Haxton ($125,494), Brad Owen ($152,266), Nikita Kuznetsov ($192,424), Seth Davies ($249,314) and Biao Ding ($334,650).

Started third, finished third

Martin Kabrhel, Jason Koon and Ren Lin rounded out the final three. Here, Martin already had the smallest stack. He couldn't even multiply it anymore and was eventually eliminated by Jason Koon. Martin sent his last chips into play with a pair of sevens and Jason found A-8. An ace on the turn marked the end of the tournament for Kabrhel and a final third place finish, which was worth $468,510.

Heads-up action then went to Jason Koon with a stack of 6,200,000 and Ren Lin with a stack of 7,600,000. Although Jason was able to get the lead for a while, he couldn't hold it and in the end Ren Lin was the winner. He took home the trophy and the full prize of $1,045,781. Jason Koon took home $669,300 for his second place finish.
