PGT: The final $1M freeroll for the top 40 players of the season will be played today

The highlight of the PGT season, the Million Dollar Freeroll, will welcome 40 lucky players to the tables tonight, from which someone will take home the $500,000 first-place prize. Who has qualified for this session?

High stakes enthusiasts will be familiar with the PGT, which hosts exciting poker events every year. Whether it's the PGT series, the Super High Roller Bowl, the U.S. Poker Open or the Poker Masters, these tournaments regularly feature some of the biggest names on the planet, so there's never a shortage of great poker.

The prestige of these events is underscored by the year-round scoring, which, in addition to the aforementioned events, also scores selected WSOP events and high roller tournaments held at the Aria Casino. Participants in these tournaments, in addition to titles and ITM placements, also earn points towards the leaderboard throughout the year, at the end of which there is a $1 million freeroll for the top 40 players.

Last seats given away

The last chance to earn points for the 2023 season was given to players during the PGT Last Chance mini-festival, which offered 6 identical tournaments with a $10,100 price tag for those interested. As we already informed you, the very first one, which took place on January 2, was grabbed by Daniel Negreanu, who started the year with a $218,400 prize.

Russian pro Artur Martirosian managed to win two of the tournaments, other champions were Samuel Laskowitz and Dylan DeStefano, and the last, sixth, tournament ended with a win by popular commentator Nick Schulman. Thanks to these successes, all of the aforementioned winners grabbed a spot in the aforementioned freeroll.

Isaac Haxton retained the top spot on the PGT leaderboard last year, cashing a total of $7,243,295 thanks to four cashes and 14 ITM placements. He was closely followed by Chris Brewer, Stephen Chidwick, this year's WSOP ME champion Daniel Weinman and long-time pro Alex Foxen. The list of entrants also includes three randomly selected PokerGO subscribers, or three lucky players who won a seat in various promotions. The full list of qualified players can be found here.

The tournament kicks off just after midnight tonight, and the plan for the first day of play is to form a final table of 40 entrants. A $500,000 bonus awaits the winner of this tournament, and you can watch both days of play live via PokerGo. Immediately following this tournament, the new PGT season kicks off with the Kickoff Series, which will feature 5 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $5,300 to $10,500 on January 11-16.
