Milan Simko becomes the new SpadePoker Tour champion!

The seventh edition of the SpadePoker Tour already knows its winner. The winner is a familiar face on the local scene, Milan Simko, who took home €27,969 and a ticket to the WSOPE Championship!

If you've been following us regularly and closely, you'll have noticed the seventh edition of our very own SpadePoker Tour, which took place in Prague's King's Casino over the past few days. The Main Event had its final final day on the schedule yesterday, with the top 8 players taking on the televised table.

The brisk, approximately 5-hour-long final table kicked off with a seat-open on the very second hand of the evening, which P.Bohuslav (€3,501) had to listen to. He was soon followed to the cash by M.Schuh (€4,764), J.Kolečkář (€6,436) and V.Křivánek (€8,301). At this point, two Czech representatives remained in play, facing two Russian players.

A series of two quick and unlucky runouts sent both Russian players out of the game in 4th and 3rd place, but thanks to that the tournament moved into the final heads-up. Going into it, Milan Simko was holding a 102:51bb advantage against his opponent Jiri Kotvas.

The half-hour-long duel was marked by aggressive play from Kotvas, who eventually paid the price for his style of play. His aggressive 4-bet shove with Šimko with willingly called, and the blank board ended with on the river definitely decided the winner. Runner-up Jiri Kotvas took home €18,947 along with a ticket to the WSOPE European Championship, and his opponent Milan Simko became the official champion, taking home a full €27,969 along with a ticket to the WSOPE European Championship without a deal. Congratulations!

And what did the new SPT champion have to say about this win in the immediate aftermath?
