GPA handed over its awards, Imsirovic grabbed three!

The third edition of the Global Poker Awards is officially a thing of the past, and if you didn't watch the gala live, you can watch it in replay and see how clearly it was dominated by Ali Imsirovic!

Saturday night at the PokerGO studio located at ARIA Casino was part of a gala evening that welcomed a poker crème de la creme from around the world. After a one-year break, this imaginary Oscars were presented, with guests and spectators accompanied by Jeff Platt and Drea Renee. “It's great to see you all live again! After 23 months, we are here together to celebrate the best that the poker world has brought us,” Platt started the entire parade.

In addition to the 18 announced categories, in which the decision was made among four nominees, another seven awards were presented during the evening, among which were traditionally the winners of the GPI rankings, the breakout player of the year of this GPI ranking and a special charity award. Once again, other personalities were thought of than just players, so reporters, photographers, tournament directors and bloggers and podcasters took home the award.

Many title defenders were found among the winners, Jamie Kerstetter won for the second time in a row in the Best Twitter Personality category, as did Paul Campbell, who again became the best tournament director. Another trophy to his collection was won by Brad Owen, who won a triumph in the category of the best vlogger (in 2019 he triumphed in the category of people's choice - poker personality).

However, the most inflected name belongs to a 27-year-old native of Bosnia, Ali Imsirovic, who in 2019 won the GPI breakout player of the Year award. We are all well aware of the great qualities and achievements of this young man, who this year won the PokerGO Tour Player of the Year in addition to the GPI Player of the Year title, but he also won the Player's Choice:The thoughest opponent category and was able to beat players such as Michael Addamo, David Peters and Stephen Chidwick.

Nadya Magnus became the women's player of the year, Adam Friedman  won the best performance at the final table, Ben "Spraggy" Spragg got the best streamer award, the best event was again the WSOP ME, and Enrique Malfavon's snapshot of the year from the bubble burst at the WSOP ME won the photograph of the year.
