EPT: Paris Main Event becomes the 6th biggest ever!

From day one, we all expected the EPT Paris Main Event to break all-time records, and the first flight made it clear that those expectations would be met. A pair of opening days, combined with late registration, finally stopped the entries count at 1,747, making this Main Event the largest ever played outside of Barcelona and the 6th largest overall in EPT history!
In total, players collected a prizepool worth €8,385,600 between them, with the champion of this event going home €1,287,800 richer. The top 255 players, who we got to know yesterday, managed to take a share of this pot. Bursting the bubble was the underdog Ignacio Molina from Spain, who bumped into under Eliot Hudon's hand, giving all players an $8,650 mincash.
By the end of the day, over 30 players had still managed to bust out, leaving the top 222 players to pack their stacks. Those are currently led by Canadian Eliot Hudon, but the likes of Barny Boatman, Gianluca Speranza, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Max Neugebauer, Leo Worthington-Leese, Anton Wigg, Padraig O'Neill, Timothy Adams and Byron Kaverman are still in action.

They took care of the €1,199,520 prizepool thanks to 51 entries, which was split between the top 7 players. The Spade trophy eventually ended up in the hands of Dutch high stakes pro Teun Mulder, who won €389,870.
