The action at the debut EPT Cyprus kicked off with the Main Event of the popular Eureka sub-series in particular, which saw a great turnout of players. After Thursday's action, which brought over a thousand entries, all eyes were on Friday, which had two final flights on the schedule. Flight 1C alone brought in a total of 1,044 entries, which was supplemented by the later Flight 1D with 532 entries. In total, 1,146 players from 74 countries accounted for 2,659 entries in this tournament, giving the 399 advancing players a share of the $2,552,640 prizepool.

A number of big names in the poker world, such as Gaelle Baumann, Daniel Rezaei and Petre Ionescu, continue to play for it after yesterday. Day 2 continues today at noon, and at the end of the day we'll get to know the final day's participants.

Winner of the first High Roller

The EPT festival also includes luxury tournaments for the most adventurous players, who were able to measure their strength yesterday in the first $25k High Roller. This produced 59 entries, with names such as Dimitar Danchev, Teun Mulder and Sam Grafton making it to the final table. However, the only undefeated player in this tournament was Austria's Alexander Tkatschew, who took home $432,090 in prize money in addition to the trophy.

God-run continues

RunGodLike - under that catchy nickname is Benny Glaser, arguably the best Mixed Games player in the world, who bookended his run at this year's WCOOP with seven titles. And he proved that he's just as good on the live circuit yesterday when he went undefeated in the $1,100 8-Game Mixed Event in a field of 29 entries, taking home $10,590 and a Spade trophy to boot!
