Dan Smith loses a crazy bet, beaten by a non-stick pan

We believe this headline sounds totally absurd, but no, this is not clickbait. Poker professional Dan Smith, the current number eight in the all-time money list, played a game two weeks ago, in which he did not face poker cards, but a non-stick pan.

Do you like crazy bets? There is no shortage of those in the poker community, and another one took place two weeks ago, when two poker players faced off against each other - professional Dan Smith, with winnings worth more than $41 million, and Markus Gonsalves, with winnings worth $2,246.000. But this time they didn't deal it at the poker table, not even with the cards in their hands.

Everything started more than a month ago, when the men played a tennis match together in their free time. However, Markus is much better at tennis, so he played the entire tournament with a racket in his left hand, despite the fact that he is right-handed. Even with this handicap, however, he was able to beat Dan.

So the idea came up to have a rematch, but in which Gonsalves will play with a non-stick frying pan, and he has to play with the inside of the pan. Gonsalves tried 4 types of pans until finally finding the right one, which was the T-Fal Simply Cook from the local Target store. The only modification to it was the adhesive tape on the handle.

On March 29 they rented the court of the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas and the tournament could begin. It was played to one set and the battle of the frying pan against the tennis racket was even in the beggining. But in the end, Dan Smith ended up on the losing end, losing 6-2 against Gonsalves' non-stick pan. There is also a video of this whole situation:

The very next day, Markus showed off a photo of frying eggs on his winning "racket" on Twitter.Dan Smith suggested another tennis match in a month, but now Gonsalves should play with a baseball bat.Dan Smith already has many victories in poker, will he manage to win in tennis this time?
