Adrian Mateos wins his first Triton title, adds $1,175,000 to his bankroll
As we mentioned in yesterday's article, the finals of the fourth Triton Jeju event took place today. However, it was marked 5, because according to the organizers, the number 4 carries bad luck. Event 5 was therefore a $30,000 NLH 8-Handed event with 185 entries and a prizepool of $5,550,000.
Twenty-four players made it to the final table and all were looking to claim the $1,175,000 prize that was up for grabs for the winner. A number of big names eventually made their way to the final table, including the legendary Phil Ivey. The chipleader of the final table was Patrik Antonius with a stack of 7,700,000.
Phil Ivey didn't sit down for long
It didn't take long before we saw the first of the final table eliminated as well. It was Phil Ivey, who took home $119,000 for his 9th place finish. Behind him, Lun Loon was also at the cash desk, with 8th place bringing him $145,000. Seventh place went to Patrik Antonius with a prize of $198,000, 6th place went to Ramin Hajiyev ($271,500) and fifth place went to Joao Vieira ($358,000).
Playing in the last four players, Adrian Mateos, who held a stack of 19,550,000 at the time, had already made his way to the chipleader position.
As you can see in the attached table, David Peters was down to just 3 blinds and was heading for the cutoff. However, it wasn't him who finished in 4th place. That went to Seth Gottlieb for $452,000. Yulian Bogdanov finished in third place, earning $557,000.
Adrian Mateos and his heads-up for his first Triton title
Adrian Mateos and David Peters faced each other in the final heads-up match. Mateos started with a 40 blind stack and Peters started with a 22 blind stack. Mateos was able to defeat his opponent, becoming the first Spanish player to win a Triton title and also claiming the first Triton trophy for himself. In addition, he added $1,175,000 to his account. David Peters had to settle for second place and the sum of $790,000.

GGMillion$ moves into its Day 2, but not final day, today with a buy-in of $25,000. That brought in 305 entries during the registration phase, making the prizepool $7,625,000. The ITM is open to 47 players, with a min-cash of $43,500 and the winner taking home $1,485,000.
66 players have advanced to Day 2 and they are led by Vincent Huang with a stack of 4,335,000. Day 2 of GGMillion$ will kick off at 1pm local time, which is 4am our time, when the blinds will start at 20k/40k/40k and players will run through 40 minute levels.
