$1 million: that's how much you need to play each WSOP 2024 bracelet event

An expanded tournament schedule and new high-stakes events have helped boost total buy-ins for the iconic series to nearly $1 million in 2024, up from about $534,000 in 2019.

The World Series of Poker is approaching two watershed moments. 99 bracelets with buy-ins totaling just under $1 million - $971,856 to be exact. "Records are made to be broken," WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart said last week when the full schedule for this year's series was released. "Our motto for this year is: bigger and better."

This year's series will run from May 28 to July 17 and will be held at the Horseshoe and Paris casinos in Las Vegas. GG is the only international site to offer official WSOP online qualifiers. Online satellites to the Main Event and other bracelet events will run throughout 2024.

Most players will only play one or two tournaments, often through online qualifiers for the WSOP. But we can also look forward to professional grinders who will play more as they compete for Player of the Year. Negreanu, for example, has about half the events set aside.

Of the 99 events for the 2024 edition of the series, 28 events have buy-ins of $10,000 or more. The traditional and most popular buy-in of $1,500 is set for 24 tournaments. This year's series will also feature 14 events with buy-ins between $300 and $999; 12 events with buy-ins of $1,000; and 21 events with buy-ins between $1,979 and $5,000.

Lots of new events this year

Organizers have added nearly a dozen new events for the 2024 WSOP, including a three-day Senior Championship ($5,000 buy-in) for players aged 50 and older, which begins June 26. Event #41, the Mixed NLH/Pro Double Board Bomb Pot ($1,500 buy-in), kicks off on June 15 and runs for three days. As we previously reported, this will be the first time a bracelet event will include two different boards and Bomb Pots. The 2024 series will also kick off with a new Champions Reunion NLH Freezeout (with a $5,000 buy-in). Players who knock out a former Main Event champion will win an automatic entry into the 2024 WSOP Main Event as a reward.

Series organizers said weekend events like the Colossus, Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack will have three starting flights from Friday to Sunday. Daily Deep Stack tournaments will run from May 28 to July 16 (with buy-ins of $200 to $400), and the new Daily Landmark Mega Satellites are scheduled to run from May 28 to July 16 (with buy-ins of $200 to $400). The WSOP for 2024 is expected to attract more players than last year, which saw more than 215,000 entrants and more than $400 million in prize money, a record for the 54-year-old series.

The 2024 WSOP begins on May 28 and concludes on July 17. The $10,000 Main Event begins on July 3 and runs for four days. Last year's Main Event attracted more than 10,000 players and had a prize pool of $93 million - a current record.
